A Sweet Mint Green and Taupe Wedding

Posted on June 1, 2013

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to design this sweet mint green and taupe wedding at the University Club in Irvine, CA. When Brianna and her mom came to us we were very excited since we were just about to do the flowers for Brianna’s sisters wedding. I just loved her vision of rustic chic. As you can see from the photos Brianna and Brent and gorgeous and their wedding was a perfect reflection of them.

About the University Club in Irvine:

The UCI University Club was founded in 1967 and has been proudly serving the UCI Campus and community ever since. Our mission is to support UCI in meeting its educational goals through professional and social interaction between members of the campus and the community it serves.

The University Club provides a beautiful private setting for your wedding reception. If you book your special event with us, you get the use of the entire facility. Our facility has a beautiful room right off of the main lobby known as the “Library”. This room boasts a fireplace, baby grand piano, rich leather furniture, mahogany bookshelves and an elegant, mahogany built-in bar. The Library is a great room for hors d’ oeuvres & cocktails while your guests are arriving for your event. Our Main Dining Room has a wonderful view as we sit atop of Aldrich Park. The room has windows that extend from the ceiling to the floor and provide a view to the park. The trees around the perimeter of the building are wrapped in white lights for an intimate and romantic setting. This room also has a vaulted ceiling which provides an open and inviting atmosphere for you and your guests. We can accommodate up to 210 guests with a dance floor.

A special thank you to all of the participating professionals!

We had a fantastic time stylizing this pure opulence shoot for Ceremony Magazine at the absolutely fabulous Balboa Bay Club with some of our favorite florals and decor! The white orchids and white roses used for our centerpieces really popped with our all white color scheme with slight touches of eggplant! One of my favorite things is the mercury glass candle holders that bring some texture and contrast to the table. We used the gorgeous chameleon chairs from Classic Party Rentals and the white satin crush linens with eggplant satin napkins from Linen Savvy. A huge thank you to the ladies of 2 Rings and a Dress for the stunning images!

We designed this “Under the Tuscan Sun” stylized photo shoot for Ceremony Magazine. So much fun working with Joel of Studio EMP, Taste Buds Cupcakes, Bella Collina, Classic Party Rentals,Ceremony Magazine’s Staff and of course Linen Savvy! This was a very fun and rustic color palate to work with. I loved the organic touches of burlap, twine and wheat in the table setting.

A Wilson Creek Winery Wedding

Posted on February 19, 2013

I love Temecula and Wineries and what could be better then a Wilson Creek Winery Wedding in the Fall? Sara and Adam were married at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, CA. Sara was one of those brides that had dreamed of her wedding day as a child and had a ton of photos and knew exactly what she wanted for her day. They added a lot of personal touch to make their wedding really reflect their personalities. Wilson Creek was such a gorgeous venue for a wedding. The night time ceremony was really romantic feeling and the reception that followed in their new ballroom was warm and inviting.

About Wilson Creek Winery:

Our winery provides extraordinary views and a dramatic open air gazebo that rises to the importance of the occasion. As a full-service wedding facility, the winery offers delicious wine country cuisine and wines, breathtaking views of the vineyards, mountains, gardens, and experienced wedding planning professionals to coordinate your specific party plans. With several ceremony and reception locations to select from, the winery welcomes up to 400 dinner guests.

Emerald Green and Gold Mission Inn Wedding

Posted on February 6, 2013

This emerald green and gold Mission Inn wedding has been by far was one of my favorite weddings to design! Kristina and Andrei were so delightful to work with along with Kristina’s mother Kim! When they decided on an emerald green (2013′s pantone color of the year) and gold color scheme and let me run with it, I was thrilled! We decided on a layout that was a bit unusual with the tables creating a large X with the surrounding tables in the opening of each side using the linens from Linen Savvy and the stunning Chameleon Chairs from Classic Party Rentals. One of my favorite elements was an elaborate cake table design that I created with a gorgeous gold brushed cake as the center piece from Simply Cakes. The Mission Inn Hotel went above and beyond in their service for this wedding. It was incredible to see the synchronized service of the waiters complete with white gloves. The ladies from Classic Touch Events  are always a pleasure to work with made the day run perfectly! Thank you to TK Jones Photography for the beautiful images! We just love the way this adorable couple met! Here is the story in the words of our groom:

We met in sixth grade.  I sat in front of her in class and knew immediately that there was something special about her.  I actually came home after the first day of school and told my mom, “I’m in love!”

At a seventh grade Halloween party I took the opportunity to tell her that I had a crush on her.  I was dressed up as Zorro and she as Aphrodite.  I brought a rose with me and told her that I thought she was pretty and smart, and that I liked her.  She blushed and kindly accepted my rose as a token of affection. We remained good friends (we were just kids, after all!) but it certainly was the beginning of the seed of love growing between us.

Kristina and I ended up going to different high schools but kept in touch over the years.  I even asked her to my prom Junior year in high school.  It wasn’t until college that she and I began dating.  She had moved from Boston to San Francisco and although we spent the first year of our relationship long distance, I ended up moving to San Francisco as well.
